Michael Salerno

<-- Michael Salerno

I was very impressed with his art work even though i had no idea what the meaning behind his painter were. However, luckily I was able to met with the artist himself at the gallery. His reasoning for each of the art work was very interesting and cleared up most of my confusion about his art work.
He said "Even if you read the title, it does not mean anything because I just chose random names for my pieces of art work." After he completes one of this painting he just use random objects names, famous people or sometimes just strangers he met names. I was very enlighten about art after talking with him, he was a very wise man. He wanted the viewers to gaze upon his art work and get their own experience from what they see instead of just reading the title to get the general concept of the art work. One of his family member was a physiologist and his pictures are almost like an Rorschach ink blot test. A test where you just splash paint on a page and say what you see. His paintings are explain through personal experience and everyone has their own story to tell about each painting. His goal was to let people experience the painting for what they think it means instead of defining his paints. He does not even want to label his works of art, but could not just leave it untitled.

Downtown Center

The last gallery I attended at the Pomona Art walk was at the Downtown Center. They were featuring Michael Salerno selected works since 1992 - 2009. When I first stepped in to this gallery, the paintings surprised me because I really can't tell what the meaning behind the painters were. The title did not help me at all because the painters were just scribbles of colors. Then, while I stood there gazing upon this weird art work the artist himself Michael Salerno was talking right next me with a few other adults about his paintings.

Eva Andry

^--Turquoise Landscape
 Eva Andry
$250
Turquoise Landscape is an oil on canvas painting. This was painted by Eva Andry and it cost $250 dollars at the Miramar gallery.
This unique painting is 3 dimensional by the way the web like ribbons flow through the canvas with curves and twist giving form to the art. There are oval holes throughout the ribbon webs. I really like the color chosen for this painting white, night blue, and light blue. It almost looks like seaweeds under the ocean. It's a soothing painting to view once in a while when one is tired or stress. The different shades of blue is very calming to gaze upon.

Inner Landscape by Eva Andry is also hunged at the Miramar gallery. However, this painting is sold for $350.

This painting reminds me of poison because normally I relate purple and turquoise blue together it makes a weird illness.
The painting looks like a tub that extend downward by the way the spots begin to get smaller to the center of the painting.

Jorge Higuera

Untitled -->
Oil
Jorge Higuera
$1200

This painting was untitled along with many other paintings he had hung up at the Miramar gallery. I really enjoyed this painting, it was breath taking. This painting infinite details was very impressive, as I gazed at the small details scattered throughout this painting I notice sun rays that shine from the clouds onto the ocean surface. The clouds are so puffy.
The realistic sea turtle is so adorable lounging around the beach. The ocean was created through different types of colors used to create the clear blue sea.
However, I found a few flaws in the painting when i looked carefully. There are a few pieces of the cloud missing through some of the branches.

Miramar

Miramar Gallery was my second favorite gallery at the Pomona art walk that night. This gallery has wonderful varies of art works on display ranging from the natural landscape to abstract. This gallery even had skateboard painted designs.

Mermaid Martini

<-- Mermaid Martini
Ralph Burch

Ralph Burch is one of America's Red Hot artist in America. His art works are highly collected among artists.  He is well known for his background on advertising and marketing. He already won 250 national and internationals awards for creativity.
This painting was so beautiful, and it is currently hung on the wall of Ferguson Fine & Arts Design.
I love mermaids, but to think of putting a martini and a mermaid together was a genius idea. The color is so soft and calming with five tropical fish swimming on the lower half of the martini glass. The mermaid have lushes curves and a long tail for fins.
My friend Robert Micklis Mentions that the tail of the mermaid is too smooth and it is not realistic enough. There is no fins besides the flippers, if only the artist can make it more realistic. I agreed with what he had to say about the smooth tail without scales. I noted that the mermaids has legs, almost like the young lady actually was a model who slipped on a mermaid tail to a costume.

Gil Elvgren

Gil Elvgren

Gil Elvgren art works were the main attraction in the front of Ferguson Find Art & Design store. As I walked into this gallery  his professional oil canvas were seen all over the wall. There was also middium canvases, postcards, notepads and many other merchindise of beautiful young ladies Gil Evlgren painted. The young ladies were very sexy in reviling clothing.
Elvgren the best pin- up artist in American history and currently still the best in the perceptive of many different artists. His works has inspired many around the world and even had a book publish "The Great American Pinup."
His paintings are sold in 16" x 20" Giclees on Canvas for $100.00 dollars each at Ferguson's.
These are really "Hot" art works,  even if it is a painting of different young ladies in lingerie she still look so realistic and flawless.
It's attracts a lot of attention to the art work since it captures what adult fantasies.
